West Nile virus has been detected in mosquitoes in some parts of Brooklyn. The best way to avoid West Nile is to stave off mosquitoes. Remember to remove any standing water around your home and if you're going to be in areas known to be heavily infested with mosquitoes make sure to wear long pants and keep your arms covered.
